collaborative Projects

Over the last year we have had the privilege of teaming up with some amazing services such as St Petrocs, a charity for homelessness based around the South West. We ran sessions from 2 locations with over 12 participants. We had some amazing climbers, full of energy; it was a very good turnout. I felt a close connection to these men and women who have gone through struggles in life that I related to. I am hoping to reconnect to them this year.

We also ran a project called “TOAST” with Cornwall Neighbourhood For Change (CN4C). The young adults who attended through CN4C attended once a week for 12 weeks, supporting them in this physical activity and exercise as part of their education programme. The staff and participants at CN4C were a joy to work with and made some really impressive progress in their stay at Chalk.

The summer of 2021 saw collaborations with Ludgvan School and Hyale Youth Project. This was an incredible turnout for the 6 week school holidays; lots of laughing children, climbing, fun, tie dye and games which were provided by ASDA in Penryn, who also provided packed lunches for the children.

2022 has started off to be a great year, meeting new service organisations, seeing the impacts we are having across the board, new collaborations such Young People Cornwall (YPC) Zebbs and working with Occupational Therapists. We are looking at a potential third site in Newquay Sports Centre and we are hoping to acquire a mobile climbing wall to move across the county to schools and community locations; bringing climbing to the doors of the communities. It is a very exciting time as we continue to learn, grow, and evolve.
