more ABOUT us
Welcome to *Ergotherapy @ Chalk *Ergotherapy-Physical treatment for mental health
conditions
Chalk Climbing Project (CCP) is an alternative therapy solution and provision that targets our
three main values of achieving physical, mental and social wellness. Chalk runs multiple
groups and 1:1 sessions throughout the week depending on age, gender and experiences.
Many of our clients/climbers have experienced anxiety, depression and addiction. We are
also experienced at working with both adults and children with Autism, ADHD, sensory
conditions and SEN. The impact of this alternative therapy is seen and felt throughout
whether it is a child, young person or adult; this is the diversity of Chalk. We achieve this by
tailor making a simple workable programme based on the individual’s needs.
Climbing is gaining ground as an alternative form of therapy for both physical and
psychological injuries and illnesses. The health benefits of our sport are often touted within
our small climbing community in the UK and the NHS has recognised its positive impact on
mental health and physical well-being.
Moving into our second year at Chalk Climbing Project, we are able to diversify to offer more to our referred
client/climbers with our extended Chalk family of staff and volunteers. Chalk is continuing to
grow and reach further than we could ever have imagined. In the near future, we are
planning to secure a further two sites in Wadebridge and Newquay!
